Simscape Power Systems in MATLAB Programming
Simscape Power Systems is developed in collaboration with Hydro-Québec of
Montreal. Simscape Power Systems gives component libraries and analysis tools for modeling and
simulating electrical power systems. It has models of electrical power components, including
three-phase machines, electric drives, and components for applications such as flexible AC
transmission systems (FACTS) and renewable energy systems. load flow, Harmonic analysis,
calculation of total harmonic distortion (THD), and other key electrical power system analyses
are automated, helping you investigate the performance of your design.
Simscape Power Systems helps to develop control systems and test system-level
performance. User can parameterize models using MATLAB® variables and expressions, and design
control systems for electrical power system in Simulink®. User can integrate mechanical,
hydraulic, thermal, and other physical systems into model using components from the Simscape™
family of products

Simscape Electrical provides component libraries for modeling and simulating electronic,
mechatronic, and electrical power systems. It has models of semiconductors, motors, and
components for applications such as electromechanical actuation, smart grids, and renewable
energy systems. User can use these components to evaluate analog circuit architectures, develop
mechatronic systems with electric drives, and analyze the generation, conversion, transmission,
and consumption of electrical power at the grid level.
